The Ansonia After School Program started in the fall of 2019. Its original focus was for students in grades 1-4, but soon added students in grades 5 and 6. Two teachers and an average of five supervised volunteers conducted the program. When schools closed in March, Ansonia tutors and volunteers were working with 19 students.
This year, Ansonia Schools will likely not make any specific changes except to limit the number of students due to social distancing. They will continue working with grades 1-6, two days a week. The Ansonia focus will be reading, language arts and math.
