Empowering Tutoring Programs

Empowering Darke County Youth has five After School Programs and three Summer Tutoring Programs.

We have two separate programs in Greenville City Schools, Middle School (grades 5-8) and Elementary (grades 1-4). We started the Elementary Program in 2016, and added Middle School in 2017.

Ansonia Local Schools, grades 1-6, begins its fourth year of After School support this fall.

Arcanum-Butler Middle School, grades 5-8, began its After School Program in October 2020, after schools reopened.

Our most recent Tutoring Program began in fall, 2022, at Mississinawa Valley for grades 1-5. Mississinawa Valley also plans to offer summer tutoring to its students through the Empowering program.

While After School Programs are for District students who need academic support during the school year, Empowering has three Summer Tutoring Programs that focus in the basics, reading, writing and math. They are open to any Darke County student, grades 1-12, regardless of District, home or private school or other educational option. They include small group tutoring at Edison State Community College, Greenville Campus, individual tutoring at Greenville Public Library, and a limited number of openings for Empowering Distance (virtual tutoring).
